Examples

1. He is very rich. He has lots of things - five dogs, ten racing cars, a big house with a swimming pool and a basketball court, a listed company - the whole nine yards.

2. On the floor were books, magazines, a computer, a cup of tea and the whole nine yards.

3. I wanna be rich. I will go the whole nine yards to get it.
(= To keep doing something no matter how difficult it is.)
