First Conditional - Part 4
The pattern of the First Conditional is as follows:
If + (Simple Present Tense), will + (Base Verb).
It is made up of the condition and the result.
4. We can use ‘provided that’ or ‘so long as’ instead of ‘if’ when we use the First Conditional.
Example
1a. If Jeffrey studies hard, he will pass the exam.
1b. Provided that Jeffrey studies hard, he will pass the exam.
1c. So long as Jeffrey studies hard, he will pass the exam.
